Maintenance and support

The unglamorous work that keeps revenue online.

Managed operations for software already in production — monitoring, patching, incident response and a support agreement with numbers in it.

Overview

Managed operations for software already in production — monitoring, patching, incident response and a support agreement with numbers in it.

Systems degrade quietly. Dependencies go end-of-life, certificates expire, a cloud provider deprecates an API, and a small maintenance gap becomes an outage during your busiest week. Our retainers exist to make that boring and scheduled.

We take over systems we did not build, which means the first month is discovery: dependency inventory, monitoring gaps, restore testing and a documented runbook. Often that first month surfaces more risk than the following year of operation.

Capabilities

What this practice covers

Four areas we are asked for most within maintenance and support.

Managed operations

Monitoring, alerting, patching and dependency currency under a defined SLA.

Incident response

24/7 on-call with agreed response and resolution targets, and a written post-incident review.

Enhancement delivery

A reserved pool of engineering hours each month for changes and small features.

Application support

Tiered end-user support with escalation paths into engineering.

Delivery

How the work runs

The same six stages as every Venzora engagement, scaled to the size of the problem.

01

Discovery

We map the current system, the constraints and the people who depend on it, then agree what success has to look like.

02

Architecture

Technical design, integration plan and a delivery sequence that puts the riskiest assumptions first.

03

Design

Interface and interaction design in a shared design system, validated with the people who will use it daily.

04

Build

Two-week increments, trunk-based, with automated checks running on every commit and demos you can click.

05

Assurance

Functional, performance, accessibility and security testing before anything touches a production tenant.

06

Run

Deployment, monitoring and an agreed SLA — plus the documentation your team needs to own it themselves.

Questions

Before you commit

The things clients ask us about this service most often.

Standard cover is 15 minutes for a P1 during business hours and one hour out of hours, with 24/7 P1 cover on the enhanced tier. Targets are contractual, and we report against them monthly.
Yes — it is most of this practice. We run a takeover assessment first so both sides know the condition of the system before an SLA is signed.

We will put an engineer and an architect on the first call — not a salesperson. You leave with a scope, a rough range and a delivery shape.
