Custom software development

Software shaped around your operation, not the other way round.

When off-the-shelf tooling forces your team into workflows that do not match the business, the cost shows up as workarounds, spreadsheets and headcount. We build the system that removes them.

Overview

When off-the-shelf tooling forces your team into workflows that do not match the business, the cost shows up as workarounds, spreadsheets and headcount. We build the system that removes them.

Most of our custom builds replace something: a legacy application nobody wants to touch, a SaaS product that covers 60% of the workflow, or a set of spreadsheets holding a critical process together. The engineering is rarely the hard part — understanding the process well enough to encode it is.

We start by sitting with the people who do the work. What comes out is a domain model, an integration map and a delivery sequence that puts the riskiest assumptions in front of real users first, usually inside eight weeks.

Capabilities

What this practice covers

Four areas we are asked for most within custom software development.

Software architecture design

Domain modelling, service boundaries and an integration plan that accounts for the systems you cannot replace.

System integration

Connecting ERP, CRM, core banking, EHR and warehouse systems through documented, versioned interfaces.

Data migration

Extraction, cleansing, reconciliation and cutover — with a rollback plan that has actually been rehearsed.

Legacy modernisation

Incremental strangler-pattern replacement so the old system keeps running while the new one takes load.

Delivery

How the work runs

The same six stages as every Venzora engagement, scaled to the size of the problem.

01

Discovery

We map the current system, the constraints and the people who depend on it, then agree what success has to look like.

02

Architecture

Technical design, integration plan and a delivery sequence that puts the riskiest assumptions first.

03

Design

Interface and interaction design in a shared design system, validated with the people who will use it daily.

04

Build

Two-week increments, trunk-based, with automated checks running on every commit and demos you can click.

05

Assurance

Functional, performance, accessibility and security testing before anything touches a production tenant.

06

Run

Deployment, monitoring and an agreed SLA — plus the documentation your team needs to own it themselves.

Questions

Before you commit

The things clients ask us about this service most often.

Yes, and it is common. We start with a two-week technical audit: what is salvageable, what is not, and what it costs to finish versus restart. You get that assessment as a written deliverable whether or not you continue with us.
Change requests are estimated within the same sprint and priced against the agreed rate card. Nothing enters the build without your written approval, and nothing gets absorbed silently.

Tell us what you are trying to build.

We will put an engineer and an architect on the first call — not a salesperson. You leave with a scope, a rough range and a delivery shape.
